Up for Review: LG 32LF11 – This full high definition 1080p 32″ LCD is an excellent flat screen television for consumers looking to get full 1080p high definition in a LCD display for under $700. In addition to its solid full definition display capabilities, the 32LF11 optimizes standard definition programming and everything in extremely well. As we noticed in a previous review of an LF11 model, the primary difference between this television and the LH30 series is the LF11’s lower contrast ratio (30,000:1 verses 70,000:1) and brightness levels (450 compared to 500). The contrast and brightness levels on the LF11 series create “grayer” black levels and duller whites. However these issues are not noticeable in most viewing situations.

The LG 32LF11 comes equipped with a built in HDTV tuner that allows viewers to receive over-the-air HD broadcasts, high-definition cable and satellite programming. This LG LCD television provides a popular 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio as well as five additional aspect ratios to give viewers the ideal ratio settings for any program or movie. With the systems XD Image Processing Engine and and extremely fast 5ms refresh rate, the LF11 creates very smooth transitions between fast action scenes. When reviewing this television we did not notice any “ghosting” or trailing of images, even during fast action sequence scenes. We were pleasantly surprised to see LG’s 24p Real Cinema control system on this entry level HD system. This function allows viewers enjoy movies in true cinematic fashion without film juddering that is common on some LCD televisions.
We liked theLG 32LF11’s solid audio capabilities as well. The system comes with two 10W four way speakers that provides ample sound for most applications. The sound system is enhanced with Dolby Digital sound decoder and SRS TruSurround XT which helps deliver a virtual surround sound experience. However, we suggest routing the sound on this system through a true surround sound system to help amplify the sound, if this television will be utilized primarily for watching movies. Bass, treble and balance controls and 5 pre-set selectable sound modes allow viewers to create a customized sound for any number of viewing applications. We also appreciated the usage of Clear Voice II technology that automatically enhances speech and provides clear dialogue when there is an abundance of background sounds. The on board auto volume leveler helps to prevent a solid amount of volume fluctuations that are common during commercials.
The LG 32LF11 is built on LG’s “Ultraslim LCD” platform that delivers a very thin (3 and 3/5 inches wide) flat panel which makes it a great television to hang on a wall or above a fireplace mantle. With it’s sleek and simplistic piano black frame and 178 degree viewing angle its a beautiful television that provides a great picture from about any seat in the room, especially when utilizing the built in 20 degree swivel arm.
LG has provided consumers with three (3) V.1.3 HDMI ports, 2 component video, and a PC port which allows the owner to hook this television up to any number HD components as well as a computer. With it’s Energy Star rating, this television will not only be inexpensive to purchase, but also inexpensive to operate. We were very impressed with the LG 32LF11 flat panel television. This television recommends itself.
