Our Latest Review: Samsung LN46B550 LCD HDTV Consumers will be impressed with this 46 inch high-quality LCD TV that offers excellent picture quality with 1080p high definition resolution. Upon reviewing this television we were most impressed with its picture quality, which was excellent regardless of the definition settings (from standard definition 480p to full HD 1080p). Much of this can be attributed to the television’s very strong 70,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio designed to provide more realistic images and a super fast 6ms (millisecond) response time, which virtually eliminated any blurring and providing smooth motion while watching fast-paced sports, gaming, and action movies.

Samsung’s Anynet+ technology allows the TV’s remote control to operate at the push of one button, peripheral AV devices such as a DVD player featuring HDMI-CEC. The system’s game mode function enhances dark areas, sharpens the picture, speeds up the image processing response and enhances the sounds quality when the system is used with HD gaming systems. The incorporation of Samsung’s mid-level Color Enhancer 2 technology gives colors more natural and realistic hues that are sometimes missing with other LCD displays. In addition to these great features the Samsung’s initial set up process was simple and straightforward and provided our reviewers well optimized picture and sound settings.

Consumers who choose to purchase the Samsung LN46B550 will get excellent connectivity and networking with a single USB port–for playing MP3 audio and displaying JPEG/MPEG files–and four HDMI 1.3 ports, and it also provides ample sound thanks to dual 10-watt, two-way stereo speakers and an integrated subwoofer. This HDTV is accented by Samsung’s TOC (Touch of Color) bezel design, which offers a hint of red translucent color around the edges of the unit that completes the panel’s cutting edge design. And as with all B550 series LCD televisions, this LCD is Energy Star 3.0 compliant, which has increased the energy efficiency of this model over last year’s model by a solid 25 percent!

Initial consumer feedback on this Samsung LCD have been great. If you are looking for a top notch 46 inch display without a steep price, theSamsung LN46B550 is an excellent choice.
