Up for Review: Samsung LN46B650 LCD HDTV This 46 inch Samsung LCD delivers video in smooth motion and very crisp picture quality that makes HD programming exciting and truly lifelike. The B650 series LCD television provides top-of-the-line picture quality with excellent 1080p high definition resolution. Our reviewers were impressed with the the flat panel’s video details and vivid color thanks to its 100,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio and Samsung’s Wide Color Enhancer 3 technology that produces more natural rendering of colors. This HDTV also incorporates a number of innovative features to reduce the motion blur and image judder, which traditionally plague LCD HDTVs when displaying fast movement. This B650 series HDTV combines an ultra-fast 4ms (millisecond) response time with Samsung’s Auto Motion Plus frame interpolation technology, which utilizes a 120Hz refresh rate that ensures crisp, easy viewing of sports, video games and movies. This mix of video features makes the B650 series LCDs some of the best televisions available to consumers.

The Samsung LN55B650 has also equipped this HDTV with it Medi@2.0™ technology. It allowsl viewers to utilize their television to capture some of the Internet’s best offerings. The system’s TV Internet® TV1 which allows owners to receive content via Yahoo!,® Flickr,® on screen. It also includes a content library that allows the owner to access pre-loaded content, such as cooking recipes and fitness exercises. Plus, DLNA CERTIFIED™ connectivity allows owners to remotely access their PC’s personal media so that you can download music, video, and photos so they can be enjoyed on the large flat panel display. The last feature of Medi@2.0 provides owners a USB 2.0 multi-media center that allows the TV to be connected to a thumb drive or a digital camera quickly and easily. Those wishing to utilize the Medi@2.0 system will need to have Internet access and Ethernet connection or wireless LAN required as well as Samsung’s Lipstick devise (unfortunately, it is sold separately from the television).

Owners of the Samsung LN46B650 get superb HD connectivity and networking thanks to 2 USB ports–for playing MP3 audio and displaying JPEG/MPEG files–and four HDMI 1.3 ports, and it also provides ample sound thanks to dual 10-watt, two-way stereo speakers and an integrated subwoofer. This HDTV is accented by Samsung’s TOC (Touch of Color) bezel design, which offers a touch of red translucent color around the edges of the unit that completes the panel’s cutting edge design. Its a forward thinking look that our reviewers quickly grew to like. And as with all B650 series televisions, this LCD is Energy Star 3.0 compliant, which reduces energy consumer on this year’s model by some 25% over last year’s model.
