A great smaller set: Toshiba 19AV600U. This 19 inch 720p LCD was a diamond in the rough for the Clever Reviews team. This television does a great job displaying SD 480p and HD 720p broadcasting and were extremely impressed with clear images on this smaller 19 inch display. This set’s native resolution is 720p but does an excellent job of up converting 1080i and 1080p resolutions. Images are clear, crisp, and bright. This Toshiba has a great display!

This Toshiba 19 inch LCD is equipped with a standard built-in ATSC / QAM / NTSC Tuners to handle DTV and analog TV viewing, However, we are pleased to report that the internal tuner is surprisingly strong and does a great job picking up a number of over-the-air digital signals. The Toshiba 19AV600U is equipped with a number of connectivity ports including two HDMI slots (one would have been nice on a TV of this size but two is even better!). The set is equipped with a wide array of rear and side hook ups, so regardless of how you want to utilize the display (as a computer monitor, display for video gaming, or use with a Blu-Ray player) it can handle it.

The Toshiba 19AV600U is Energy Star 3.0 compliant and will save its owner a good amount of money if they are replacing an older tube set with this flat panel LCD. We should report the setting up and initial configuration of the set was simple and straightforward. We know other users have had issues with this LCD’s ability to produce adequate and clear sound. However, this was not our reviewer’s experience. This set can produce ample sound and quality was very nice. This is a really solid 19 inch LCD and our reviewers unanimously agreed it would be a solid selection. It normally retails for about $275.00, but we have seen it at a few online retailers for about $190. Considering the experiences we’ve had with other smaller sets from Toshiba we give it our recommendation. Purchase with confidence!
