Toshiba 26LV610U Review – 26-Inch 720p LCD w/ DVD Player

A Trusted Name in HDTV sets: Toshiba’s 26LV610U with a 26-inch LCD screen and built-in DVD player. For consumers looking for a name brand 26 inch with built-in DVD, this Toshiba is a great choice. Smaller and mid sized televisions that provide onboard DVD players are generally “store brands” or no-name makers that can leave you a little nervous. However, with Toshiba’s attention to detail and quality we recommend sticking with this manufacturer if you are looking for a mid-sized TV/DVD combo. We are particularly fond HDTV/DVD player combination sets in areas where one cannot afford the extra space (or mess of cables!) for a DVD player. This set’s native resolution is 720p and does a great job handling 1080i and 480p resolutions as well. Images are solid and clear. An item worth mentioning is that this set native display is in 16:9 wide screen whereas most over the air programming is still broadcast in 4:3. This should not be an issue where the screen size is a healthy 26 inches.

Toshiba 26LV610U

The 26-inch LCD is equipped with a built-in ATSC / QAM / NTSC Tuners for both DTV and analog TV viewing. The Toshiba 26LV610U provides users with the standard connection components, including two increasingly important HDMI port. Our reviewers were very impressed with the television’s display qualities whether watching programming or a DVD via the built-in player. We tested the following DVD formats without any issues: DVD/DVD-R/DVD-RW/CD/CD-R/CD-RW/VCD.

The Toshiba 26LV610U is Energy Star 3.0 compliant and won’t cost much to operate. We’ve found that a LCD/DVD set that is Energy Star rated is a rarity. Sound quality on this set is sufficient for most applications, but could be better with the addition of a sound bar. Initial set up is simple and easy, in spite of the numerous features this LCD offers. If you are looking for a well built, top of the line 26 inch LCD with DVD player, this Toshiba is a great option. It normally retails for about $475, but we have seen it at a few online retailers for about $400. Our reviewers really liked this set!
