The speakers are hidden below the series, and LG has several ways to improve the sound, including self-ClearVoice and volume. Very nice TV! So it cost $719. Its a 2009 model - but we benefit because Plasma is being exited by the industry in favour of LED technology...which is a few years away from its value price point. Last chance to buy a 50 inch anything for this price...unless you want to gamble with an unknown/unproven China mfger.
